The enrollment solution focus the last few years has been a migration to a web based solution.

The initial business drivers to this migration were an attempt to lessen the paperwork, lessen the enrollment workload on the agent in the field and to make the enrollment process less intrusive to the workplace. The logic here is a more efficient, less costly method to enroll. However as this methodology matured this mindset quickly turned into a marketing portal for insurance carriers. The focus turned to where the money is. What we have today is solutions that offer carrier specific products in a self-service, web based environment. The employer and enrollee have become secondary and not the main focus in the development of today's enrollment solutions. More importantly these business models eliminated flexibilities to meet specific enrollment requirements. With the absence of flexibility the cost effectiveness also was missing. Some enrollment solutions have gone so far as to offer free enrollment with a little catch. You must buy only their insurance products. Where is the ability to choose benefits/products and meet the employers or group's specific insurance/enrollment requirements? IT'S GONE. Not important in today's market. We strongly disagree.

The market today is broken into three main groups.

  1. Most Software Services Companies focus on HR services and corporate CRM/ERP packages. The enrollment services or modules are small piece of these types of systems. They offer no flexibility in the enrollment process. Oracle, People Soft, SAP, Siebel are the main players in this arena.
  2. .com. Too many to mention. They have developed web sites that are marketed as your one stop shop for health care, life products, dental etc. In truth they are nothing more that web sites that exist for a select few carriers to market their products. Most niche players appear on these sites. Fortis, UniCare etc. market heavily in this arena. Many have utilized call centers tied to a web site for increased participation with some success. Recent conversation with a large .com service revealed they have one (1) completed application per 1000 visits.
  3. Consultants. Hewitt, EYCG, etc. sell billions per annum in consulting fee's specifically targeting a more efficient enrollment process to larger groups. Almost without exception these exercises result in the consulting group selling a large CRM/ERP package and thousand of billable hours in the implementation of their solution. Very expensive with very few success stories.

EnrollBest has developed relationships with insurance products providers. We can recommend products to the end user that may enhance the overall package being offered to the end user. It however is not a requirement. The insurance products being utilized during the enrollment process rest entirely with the employer.
